Feed The Hungry

APSP’s “FEED THE HUNGRY” is initiated to help raise food for Private Shelters and Independent Feeders.

From 27-February-14 till 20-March-14, we will be raising food fund for SPCA Seberang Perai.

Mdm. Tan is a 66 years old retiree who runs the shelter practically on her own. She needs approximately 10 packets of 10kgs rice daily to feed her many hundreds of furrykids at the shelter and also to prepare food for dogs imprisoned at MPSP Dog Pound. Besides caring for those in her shelter, Mdm. Tan travels to MPSP Dog Pound daily to help in feeding the dogs there.

A packet of 10kgs rice cost approximately RM17. For this small amount, you can help keep the needy animals away from hunger.

Please donate generously to our good cause and help lessen the burden of Mdm. Tan who has been fighting endlessly for the welfare of the animals everyday.

Feed The Hungry for July-August 2013

APSP is introducing a new program known as "FEED THE HUNGRY" to help raise food for Private Shelters and Independent Feeders.

A packet of 10kgs rice cost approximately RM17.00. For this small amount, you can help keep the needy animals away from hunger.

We will be raising food for different shelters and feeders each month.

From 16/July till 16/August, we will be raising food for a Private Shelter run by Esther.

She needs about 5 packets of 10kgs rice daily to feed her currently over 200 dogs/puppies, some which are handicaps.

Please donate generously to our good cause and help lessen the burden of these people who have been fighting endlessly for the welfare of the animals.

Senior Dog for Adoption

One look at this haggard old dog and you might thought he is some homeless stray without a home and has been loitering on the streets for quite a while...but sadly, he DOES has a owner.

He used to be someone's dog for the last 15 years until he gotten too old for everyone, and suddenly no one seems to be able to have time to take care of an aging old senior dog. Kids had gone to work in KL and mother is too old to care for the dog. Last solution? To have him surrender to the shelter...(at least it's a no-kill shelter)

In a glimpse of an eye, he turn from a home pet to a shelter dog.

Many people do not know or perhaps they do know but decided to turn a blind eye on that home pet(s) can hardly survived in a shelter. They are not used to living with the existence of so many other dogs and they just do not understand why the dogs are fighting/growling at each other during meal time when they are used to having their own bowl filled with food serve directly in front of them at home.

With all these stress lurking at them, they will soon go into depression, fall sick and died eventually.

This dog was surrendered to the shelter last Sunday and within days, he has started to loose weight, leaving only with skin and bones. Not that the shelter is not feeding enough food but rather he just do not understand the "rules" of shelter dogs and the sudden lost of his once most beloved and trusted family. Why has his "Family" that has been with him for the last 15 years left him there? Did he do anything wrong? He just do not understand...

We sincerely hope that some good soul out there will be willing to claim him out from the shelter and give him a home with some tender loving care that he absolutely deserve until his last day on Earth.

Need a home

Chris spotted a broken back dog dragging her hind legs to move around at Raja Uda today.

He jumped into her rescue immediately (though the dog was quite aggressive) and sent her to the vet clinic for treatments.

Her hind legs were badly injured due to the excessive dragging.

We are appealing to the Public to help find her a shelter/home as her condition is longer suitable to be released back on the streets.

ROTTY :: A Stray Dog With Rotten Penis

After 3 months spotted this rotten penis dog, today God sent angels to rescue him. Thank you to all volunteers who make the rescue mission happened.

Thank you to Chris Kuah for the sleeping pills, and thank you to Terri and her mother who help us foster this dog until we receive the sampling result from UPM next week.

The dog has been sent to Venice Vet in Bukit Mertajam. Unfortunately due to no boarding space, and too malnutrition, this dog has to be treated at home with nutritious diet and extra tender loving care until his sampling result is ready. And vet told us to fatten him up to make sure he is ready to receive the aggressive treatment.

狗主请愿变流血

今天在亚罗士打市政厅 MBAS 请愿的“反对养狗执照集会”发生流血事件！
根据消息来源，请愿者集合在市政厅请愿时，有一位马来人突然公然对一班请愿的狗主开骂，并且挑战狗主放狗咬他，其间还做势要打狗。
起初狗主们仍然可以安耐住怒火，但是相关人士却是再三挑剔，终于惹来狗主爆火放狗追咬相关马来人，进而围殴挑剔者。
我摇了电话咨询市议会还有赶到现场帮忙维持次序的职工团的朋友，主要是咨询该位马来人是否政府人员或者土权份子，获得市议会官员证实非政府人员，只是普通的过客。但是否土权份子，则不得而知。

Bantahan Kewajipan Lesen Anjing oleh Majlis Bandaran Alor Setar.

(Protest against mandatory licensing for dogs by the Alor Setar City Council.)

Previous dog license charges: RM5 per year.
New dog license charges: RM56 per year. (Vaccines: RM20, MBAS fee RM30, two application forms: RM6. What do they do for us in exchange for this fee?)

You will now also be required to submit written approval from both your neighbours on the right and left of your house agreeing to let you keep your dog. (None of this applies to cats - this is clearly discriminatory.)

If your dog has no license, you will be fined RM500 per dog.

Please come and voice your protest. If you keep quiet, this will be passed as law.
