Back in the month of May 2011, we have successfully removed Mimi and another 2 young puppies from the hill-slope heading towards Batu Ferringhi, Penang. They were seen loitering and playing by the side of the road risking being run over by cars. There aren't any shelter nearby to keep them off the rain and sun.
You may read the rescue story of Mimi and the 2 young puppies here.
Mimi was taken for spaying after she was rescued while the 2 younger puppies who were then suffering from skin problem were taken in by MDDB & MCCP Northern's rescuers under foster care.
After Mimi was spayed and discharged from the veterinary clinic, she was sent to a local shelter pending adoption.
2 weeks later, we paid a visit to Mimi at the shelter. She has put on some weight and was seen to be very active, running like a lightning. Although she still seems a little nervous mixing with other dogs but she gets along well with the workers at the shelter. In fact, she likes to keep the workers accompany while they work.
We hope that Mimi will get her equal chance to be adopted to a good family one day soon. But at the mean time, we shall continue to visit her at the shelter as often as we can so that she won't feel abandoned/neglected.
